ASK Pharm has invested significantly in product research and development over the years. Jiangsu ASK Drug Research Institutes have been founded since 2013, and devoted to research innovation and product development in chemical and biotech pharmaceutical platforms. Working closely with Departments of Clinical Studies and Drug Registration, the Research Institutes make it possible to efficiently translate technology innovations and commercialize pipeline products.
In partnership with government agencies at both provincial and national levels, ASK Pharm has established numerous research centers within the corporate, including Jiangsu Provincial Research Center for Gastric Diseases, Jiangsu Provincial Center in Oncology Drug Delivery, Jiangsu Provincial Center for Technology and Innovations, and National Training Station for Postdoctoral Fellows. ASK Pharm has been consecutively recognized as one of the “Best Chinese Pharmaceutical Enterprise in Research and Development”, and one of the “Top 20 Chinese Pharmaceutical Corporate in Innovation”, and has taken critical and leadership roles in national development programs for new drugs and innovative pharmaceutical products.

Platform for Chemical and Pharmaceutical Products Nanjing Haiguang Applied Chemicals Research Institute was the founding research department under the ASK banner, and devotes its research and development to proton-pump inhibitors (PPI), oncology medicines, products for diabetic and inflammation.
Under the new corporate values of “Innovation for Ideas, Collaboration in Works, Obligation to Duties”, the institute currently focuses its priorities on developing both properiety and generic pharmaceutical products for the domestic market.
ASK DDS Institute, founded in 2006, was the first kind of institution in Jiangsu Province that was directly funded by a pharmaceutical enterprise to focus research and development on innovative drug targeting and delivery. Specializing in novel drug delivery, the institute is one of the provinicial centers to develop oncology preparations, with unique dosage forms such as liposomes, nanoparticles, sustained release injectables, and other state-of-the-art drug delivery systems.
The institute participates in multiple national projects in New Priority Drug Development Program, holds independent intelectual properties; some of the research projects have also been registered for clinical trials.
ASK Chiral Drug Institute is the latest addition to the ASK Drug Research Institutes, in partnership with Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The objectives of this institute are to integrate bench research to industrial development, and to expedite commerlization of academic invention and new technology. Investigation at the institute focuses on characterization and commercialization of novel chiral molecules for drug applications, impact of chiral molecules on dosage preparation, and knowledge transfer from fundamental research to large-scale industrial production. The establishment of the institute is also expected to reduce resource and time required of new drug development and to make sustainable contributions to the growth of the ASK corporate.

Platform for Biological and Biotech Products ASK’s research and development platform for biological and biotech products includes ASK Biotech Institute at the headquarters and ASKGene Pharma US in the United States.
ASK Biotech Institute was established in June 2011, and is composed of a dedicated team of scientists with diverse experience in drug discovery and development.
The institute holds a research facility at approximately 1,200m2, with state-of-the-art laboratories for molecular biology, cell biology, fermentation and purification, quality assurance and clinical pharmacology. Research promgrams at the institute focus on innovative biological medications and biotechnology, in order for ASK Pharm to keep up with fast paces in latest development in biotechnology.
ASK Pharm has also established an oversea subdivision, ASKGene Pharma in California, USA in 2012. The institute has attracted numerous senior scientists and researchers with extensive industrial experience in biological pharmaceuticals, and focuses its research and development on biosimilar and new biological molecules.
The establishment of a US subdivision aims at facilitating potential expansion and operation of ASK Pharm in overseas market in the future.
